The popular social media platform, Facebook unveiled its Australian used car listing domain through its partnership with Carsales, an automotive classified site. With this partnership, Facebook would enable its users to buy used vehicles. This partnership is crucial step for the company marking its entry into the classifieds.
Australian Facebook users would be able to access the market place automobiles with the help of the Marketplace Tab in the very own social media application. The social media platform users who wish to buy used cars would be provided with an effective search alternative allowing them to filter results and run a customized search and even speak to used car dealers using Messenger.
Apart from this, the digital giant has similar setup in Canada, US, UK, Germany, France, and Mexico. In these settings the used car dealerships add the inventory of used cars on Marketplace, the initial version of which was launched last year. Moreover, car owners could sell directly.
The Australian business of used cars includes the partners such as Autotrader Australia, The Drive Network, Carsales, Dealer Solutions, I-Motor, AdTorque Edge, Easy Cars, and Dealer Solutions. Ted Bergeron, head of automotive for New Zealand and Australia, Facebook, stated that this move was a massive opportunity for the classified sites unit as it would revolutionize the way tech-savvy customer base is approached.
Facebook is speculated to increasingly expand its presence across various business domains owing to its strong customer base. This deal reflects its continued efforts to sustain as a market leader.
